The free market takes care of things like that. One long-time business in my region tried banning republicans, and were out of business within the year. Doesn't work as well with big tech unfortunately as they have more of a monopoly.

What’s Your Opinion of Companies That Decide To Stop Doing Business With You Because of Politics?
by minimus ini think it’s terrible.
if someone wants to believe in a political party they should not be punished or censured because of who they like or what their politics are, right or left.

the GB has just cancelled the next two years
by neat blue dog ineven some democrats are advocating for reopening society, and are at least hoping for some point in 2021, but the governing body just announced that they're canceling the assemblies in 2022 as well, aiming to restart in 2023. .
they're really milking this 'pandemic', because as soon as things go back to normal that sense of urgency will start to die again, and publisher counts / meeting attendance will go down as well.
i wonder how many jws are suffering form (additional) depression from this as well, because with meetings, assemblies and conventions at least you could see and meet new people, as well as socialize.

any additional depression that may be caused by isolation might be offset by the absence of anxiety caused by the weekly doom and gloom sessions
Any true believer is also regular at zoom meetings and JW Broadcasting, so there is no balance. In fact, many JWs sincerely believe that the pandemic will lead to the Great Tribulation.
most of the Churches around here have been meeting in big Marquee tents set up in their parking lots
Because most Christians are also politically conservative. JWs on the other hand have been blatantly virtue signaling about their compliance with the 'superior authorities' and how seriously they're supposedly taking things.

Now, everyone is stuck within the same small social group with little one on one interaction, because JWs tend to be more scared of the 'pandemic' as they view doing otherwise as being disobedient to the GB. Much of the civilized world is on hold, but perhaps JWs even more so, as they can't turn to 'worldly' people for companionship and their already small community is now even smaller.

new series "The Good News According to Jesus"
by neat blue dog inthis concept was leaked here not too long ago, and it was just announced at the next section of the 'annual meeting' on jw broadcasting.
they allude to it being a half hour series and say that it will cover literally every detail in all four gospels in chronological order through the course of all episodes.
they also insinuate that it's the most ambitious project yet (i guess making use of that new media production facility).

Nothing but more distraction, and a complete contradiction of their narrative that the end is imminent.

All they have is a simple hand drawn storyboard for an early episode. They said it will take YEARS to complete, and they ask the audience to 'support' the production as much as they can. I guess the new system ain't coming in the next few years is it?

Have JEHOVAH ever supported WARS between his WORSHIPPERS?
by Longlivetherenegades injehovah's witnesses used to state other christian denominations go to war and in fact that their religious leaders bless such wars.
they see this as one reason why all other christian denominations are not true christians since they kill one another at war and therefore they don't love one another as stated by jesus in john 13: 34,35.. for example when a roman catholic go to war, he/she is bound to kill a fellow roman catholic in the cause of the war.
therefore roman catholic can't be true christians since its member don't love one another and kill one another at war and as such god cannot be in support of such wars where his worshippers kill one another.. the question that comes for consideration is, has jehovah ever supported wars between his own worshippers?.

Very good point. Add to that Cornelius, an active army officer who was baptized. There is absolutely nothing said about him resigning his position as a prerequisite to baptism, let alone doing so afterwards. As regards to government service in general the New Testament also says to go above and beyond when called into service, but it says nothing about this being only non-combat or being led only by civilian leadership, as WT now requires for any community service.

Phone witnessing and the Year Book
by Diogenesister inwhen the “year book” is published online next year, and the number of new baptisms is roughly the same as it always is, how are they going to deny that their new “converts” are nothing more than born-in kids of witnesses or already “captive” family and friends?.
the “billions” of hours of service are at best pointless and ineffective and at worse often fabricated.. what say you?.
-
neat blue dog
Good point. It's hard to say how the hours will be affected. I know that for some their service time has gone up with it being easier. But then again they recently announced that ALL publishers were eligible to only report 15 minutes, which would indicate some are slacking off. Maybe they'll balance each other out? We'll see.

What are the Society's rules when confronting a disfellowshipped person at a funeral service?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat are the society's rules when confronting a disfellowshipped person at a funeral service?.
are there specific rules or watchtower articles that must be followed?.
i have been to three different wakes/funerals where a disfellowshipped person attended with different results.. 1. ten years ago my first cousin passed away.

I've seen a little bit of shunning at funerals but it seems that most times disfellowshipping rules temporarily go out the window, even with elders. Hey, even Michael Jackson got a JW funeral talk.
